Below is the driving route that we recommend from Málaga airport to Almogía. This is the shortest way, using the best roads available at this time. The map below shows the route.

Distances are approximate, in kilometres. Your starting point is the big roundabout in the airport where you will see a huge SAN MIGUEL sign on a billboard. Reset your trip counter here.

On leaving the airport follow directions to Malaga. You will have the San Miguel brewery on your right side, but keep in the left hand lane and go over the bridge, turning through 270 degrees onto the MA-21 (also known as the N-340).

After approx. 2 km, take the exit to the A7/E15, signposted Motril/Antequera/Sevilla/Granada. At the junction, there are 3 exit lanes - stay in one of the left-hand lanes and you will join the A7 heading towards Málaga. You may also see the A7/E15 called the MA-20 - it's the same road.

At the first exit off the A7/E15, take direction Cartama Parque Tecnológico / Universidad, A357. You will see an oddly-shaped building on your left just before the junction (this is the Trade Fair and Congress Centre of Málaga). Be sure to stay in the leftmost lane at the exit, the 2 right lanes are for Málaga (Centro Urbano).

You should now be heading west on the Autovía del Guadalhorce (the A357). Continue for about 6.6km and then take exit 64, signposted A7054 Campanillas / Merca Málaga. At the T junction, turn left onto the A7058.

After about 800m, take the first turning to the right. Ahead, you will see a Famadesa butchers (very good, by the way). At the roundabout, turn left (3rd exit). Continue on this road through a village called Huertecilla Mañas and another couple of small villages. You are still on the A7058. Look out for the green kilometre markers on the side of the road. Just after the 6km marker you will pass a cafe/bar called El Pirata. 900m after this you will pass a builders' merchant (BreCamp) - keep this on your right and you will come to a low bridge across the (possibly) dried-up river.

Turn immediately right after the bridge and you will come to the village of Los Nuñez. Take the road leading up the hill on the right, signposted to Almogía (about 8 km) through the hills. There is only one road.
